Chicken Meaning and Messages

In this case, Chicken symbolism is asking you to take the time for some internal evaluation. In other words, the Chicken meaning reminds you that you must scratch the surface of your emotions to see what lies underneath. Therefore, you must ask yourself if you are responding to the circumstances around you from your heart. Or, on the other hand, is your head ruling and allowing things to spiral out of control. Whenever you find yourself in this place, Chicken symbolism prompts you to take a step back. Moreover, this spirit animal inspires you to make sure that you are grounded in your heart. Only then can you approach your problem from a spiritual sense and see what your next step is – if any.

The Pheasant, Turkey, Quail, and Peacock are all relatives of this bird.

Chicken Totem, Spirit Animal

People with Chicken totem are bold in their approach to life. They dare to accomplish anything and everything they to which they set their mind. Folks with this spirit animal totem are enthusiastic about everything they do. They also know how to balance patience with action. These people have a knack for using currently available resources in new and unusual ways. Therefore, they get amazingly different results than most others would. People with this power animal are highly social and tend to be somewhat territorial with their surroundings. They prefer social situations rather than solitude. These folks also have an uncanny ability to uncover the truth.

Chicken Dream Interpretation

In general, a Chicken dream is a message that you may have to re-evaluate your response to something in your waking life. Are you responding from your heart or out of fear? Are you backing down when you should be standing up for yourself?

Alternatively, the bird may be representative of chatter and gossip. Thus you should make sure that you are listening well enough to others and hearing what they have to say. Conversely, you may be participating in unhealthy hearsay. Therefore, be sure to take the time to work through things and see where it takes you. Usually, you can grow from it!

Notably, one of these fowl in your dream is also a symbol of your vast potential. The vision is letting you know that to achieve your potential, you must find the courage to overcome your fears.

This might represent that you are being too involved in idle gossip or discussions of people’s lives only on the surface level, than in exploring anything deep in your life, with the chicken trying to bite you. You might just be distracted of exploring insignificant drama or celebrity news around you, and this is taking you away from the more important things of life.

  2. I was disappointed there were so few symptoms listed for Marek’s. other sources have listed leg weakness, loss of balance, also. Are you saying that older chickens would not benefit from vaccinating if I think one of the flock has died with these symptoms? I have a very small flock [3], 1, 8 months old, 2 pullets at 5 months. Do you recommend putting down the whole flock because the’ve been exposed.? they all came from the same breeder.

  3. I dreamed of two chickens (yellow with a cape on) one went in another direction and the other leaped up and landed on top of my head. What is this about?

Chickens are cute birds. Quarter horse for random land generator. Sea horse for water. Airedale for dog and now the chicken for bird. I just remember taking a random facebook personality test once asking “which brave bird are you?” and I got the chicken πŸ™‚

  8. I live in Dallas I got dropped off by my kids mother and I saw 2 chickens at the train station this morning I got really close to them and the didn’t run or try to move away this never happened before in my life super weird

      1. Usually chickens are not afraid to have you approach them especially if people feed them… if it was a public place people might have been feeding them…but it would be a sign if no one else saw them.

  9. I saw a very pretty rainbow coming my way in my dream, then later realize its a baby chicken and it has 3 heads. Im very amaze and start feeding them, and start multiplying really fast so I’m a little scared and when I stop feeding , they eat each other till none of them left. 😳😳😳😳😳

  10. In my dream a toad was struggling to kill a chick, I was able to save the chick but found out that the chicks mother was with the other chicks in my balcony.
Please what is the meaning of this?

    1. I had a dream that I caught a wild chicken and took him home with me and then I was sleeping and I touched it and it dug it’s claws deep into my arm. What could it mean because it felt real.

  11. Almost a week ago my husband and I were on our way to dinner. When we saw something run. It was a barren hen she has not left. She took over our deck and the barbecue. She was scared at first but now she is fine with us. She also stays close to the house at all times.

  12. Right spot on, total bullseye. Am a massage therapist & found a white silke bantam chicken of all creatures sleeping on the back porch of our commercial building in a busy part of Asheville, NC, tonight as as my client exited after massage session. People in that part of town keep chickens & goats even though it’s not legal. Very unusual to find! Even more unusual is the seagull that was crossing over my car and flew beside me for a moment as big as day in my passenger window and windshield when I was driving to the health food store a few days ago, which was a few days after the gigantic hurricane that hit the coast of our state recently. Seeing a seagull here in our town didn’t make me run off the road, but I definitely had to keep my eyes straight to not stare!! Both times when I look at these animals up on your website, the little box message that pops up had almost the same message in it, see things from a different perspective. I’ve had a chicken that I never thought I would see in town, and a seagull that I never thought I would see beside my car flying in the western North Carolina Mountains, coming to tell me this message. I worry about the safety of both animals and I hope & pray much that the seagull somehow makes it back to the Carolina coast, and in the morning I’m going to try and get hold of some kind of animal charity to see what I can do about the silkie if it’s still behind our commercial building. I’m going through highly extreme difficult personal and family issues right now and my stress level is through the roof. So okay, I get the message here. The silkie also has a very personal meaning for me because it resembles a piece of common art that I love, from a product at Trader Joes lol. Many thanks & blessings. πŸ˜›

  13. I was driving home from the beach a few days ago and there was a beautiful black hen standing alone on the side of the road. I’ve always had a connection to chickens because as a kid, I had a snow white pet rooster for 9 years. Earlier in the day there were a couple of instances that I thought my late husband was letting me know he was there with me.

  14. i came home yesterday and one of my neighbor’s chickens was hanging out in my yard. As I was parking the hen seemed very interested in me. I had my window down and was talking to the hen, then as I opened my door and turned to get my bag the hen jumped into my car. I was surprised but started petting it. Then I put the hen out of my car and she jumped right back in. She was obvious about her intension to get back into my car. Was this just random or is there some significance ?

    1. Hi, Betty. If nothing else, at least find comfort and beauty in knowing that the chicky at least felt safe with you and was interested in you for some reason that maybe neither of you will understand. Sure, she may be a social bird who just loves rides in cars, but it’s more likely that you just have a pleasantness to you that she picked up on and was interested in, as opposed to a typical dismissive and somewhat threatening energy that humans can usually give out to animals when they’re not connected. I hope you made a great friend in that chicky and that you continue to spend time and share energy with each other and that she can remind you how simple and beautiful life can be for all lives. <3

    2. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ what a great story! I agree with SaraPeg, if nothing else, the situation is so beautiful and inocent that has value just by happening and no other meaning. But if I would take a guess I would say she could be asking “isn’t there a place you’re forgetting to go? Someone to visit? Let’s go let’s go!” πŸ™‚ sometimes animals appear to remember us of something we thought of doing but never did or end up forgetting.

  15. My husband of 44 years passed away on December 5. We came home from the hospital and about 30 minutes later my son-in-law was on the porch talking on the phone. He called us all outside and there on our driveway was a brown chicken. Have never seen one in our neighborhood and have never seen one since. We felt it was him but am wondering if there was a special meaning attached or just his wonderful sense of humor.

  16. I full grown barred rock hen showed up I’m my families yard
, never EVER has this happened before and we love in the city does this mean good lol hope so!! Thanks for any info anyone has

    1. Ok, I started studying about symbols, more into mytholo and practicing reading cards. Then herbs, smudging, incense, some crystals, I built a small simple altar. Tried simple spells for stress, gratitude, blessings, good luck and so on. So another day I was really curious and chanted something simple for knowing the spirit guide, a bat came flying at once… now he won’t come out. I am worried, doesn’t he need to go out to eat? And he is weird he just moves or makes noises if I talk to him… I kept on studying and taking notes, making herbs bottles for calming down and helping relieve pain for friends and family. Combinations of teas. And decided to try bells spell for house protection, I put the bells and the next day a chicken or rooster? Idk because it is Angola type, so I idk the difference of them. Found a way to the top of my house to sing in the midday, and it is damn high. Latter “it” jumped into my garden, and doesn’t wan’t to leave. I searched that Hen and rooster warns the world that witches are nearby by singing on their roofs. But why is it in my garden now? Is it spirit guide totem too?

  17. Well my dog killed six chickens last week. The next two or three days, chickens popped up in conversations, on television, in the news… Everywhere i turned chickens were the topic. Clearly a message, but what is it?

  18. I dreamt of a disfigured chicken (damaged beak) sitting on a nest of chicks. It was being fed/cared for by another chicken. Any idea what this might mean?

  19. All of a sudden I have been fascinated and set to buy a chicken. Then all of a sudden at a house Ive never been to I had the opportunity to see pet and play with one. What does it mean to has such an urge to own a chicken??
