Meaning and Messages

In this case, Prairie Dog symbolism is reminding you that by participating in activities with your friends and family, you are feeding your sense of self-worth and well being. In other words, the Prairie Dog meaning prompts you to take the time to figure out why you have withdrawn yourself physically and emotionally. Prairie Dog symbolism also asks you to address those parts of yourself. Like the dolphin, you deserve to be a vibrant part of your community. Moreover, those around you treasure your input and participation. This spirit animal insists that you recognize important your contribution is to them.

Totem, Spirit Animal

People with the Prairie Dog totem have a powerful sense of community. Thus they love to be involved in the organization of group events and philanthropic projects. They have a gift for bringing people together to work cooperatively.  Furthermore, they also know how to get the best out of them. Like the Chicken totem, they flourish in social situations and love to express their affection to those around you.

Folks with this spirit animal totem tend to lean toward being a vegetarian. They also have a green thumb when it comes to growing things. Occasionally, Prairie Dog totem people will become a little too involved with those around them. This involvement can be to the point of not giving others enough space to develop in their way. Finding a way to balance this tendency requires them to retreat inward and be aware of their actions.

Dream Interpretation

When you have a Prairie Dog dream, it represents an underground community. The vision is telling you that you need to go against the masses and what is considered normal. Alternatively, like a Cricket dream, the Prairie Dog meaning can signify that you will have to go inward to find out what is going on in your life right now. In other words, do some emotional or physical digging. There is something that you need to look at carefully. It is the only way that you can get to the truth of the matter.

To see these rodents hugging or touching each other signifies that you have withdrawn yourself from your friends and family. Therefore you need to make an effort to regain your sense of community.

While there are benefits to investing time with others, this is but one way to feed one’s sense of self-worth and well-being. How about feasting at the huge buffet table where you serve yourself? It’s been said that an unexamined life isn’t worth living. Check it out— if you create a relationship with every aspect of yourself—thoughts and feelings –you’re bound to come to know and love your own little inner family/ community. You won’t have a need for anyone or anything outside yourself to feel worthy and well. I AM enough for me! As for knowing you’re wanted? How about acknowledging the other side of this too–notice when you’re NOT wanted. Seriously–because its a true delight to discover that if others don’t want me –that’s their business. I know I want me and that’s what matters.
